BYD has officially launched the updated Sea Lion 06 EV (海狮06EV), and it is one of the most compelling value propositions in the mid-size electric SUV segment globally. Four trim levels are available, priced between ¥159,900–¥179,900 (approx. $22,100–$24,800 USD), with the flagship offering an astounding 710km of CLTC range with flash charging capability.

Clean, Confident Exterior

The Sea Lion 06 features BYD’s Ocean Network design language — split LED headlights, aerodynamic side cladding, and a seamless continuous tail light bar at the rear. Dimensions: 4,810mm long, 1,920mm wide, and 1,675mm tall with a 2,820mm wheelbase. Roof-mounted LiDAR is available as an option.

Frunk: Knock to Open

A spacious front trunk (frunk) is included — BYD even adds a dedicated knock-twice gesture to open it from the key fob. No engine, no wasted space.
