Leapmotor has launched the D99, a flagship large MPV with both range-extended and pure-electric versions. The six-trim lineup is priced from US$36,746 to US$47,043 (RMB 249,800-319,800), putting high-end cabin features into a price band that undercuts many traditional luxury MPVs.

The D99 uses Leapmotor’s D platform and a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout. Autohome highlights second-row rotating zero-gravity seats, rich seating modes, a 21.4-inch 3K rear entertainment screen, a 50-inch AR-HUD and a 23-speaker audio system.
What changed
The pure-electric versions are built around a 1000V high-voltage platform, while the range-extended versions target buyers who want EV-like daily driving with longer-distance flexibility. The vehicle measures 5,280 mm long with a 3,110-mm wheelbase.
Driver-assistance hardware includes lidar, a VLA-model system, dual Qualcomm 8797 chips with 1,280 TOPS of computing power and active emergency steering assistance.
EV InnoTech take
The D99 shows how quickly Chinese brands are turning MPVs into technology showcases. The formula is no longer just sliding doors and soft seats; it is charging speed, cabin compute, second-row theater comfort and assisted-driving hardware in one package.
