Mercedes-AMG鈥檚 electric C-Class has been spotted in prototype form. Autohome reports that the car may use a tri-motor setup and could debut later this year, carrying AMG cues over the basic electric C-Class shape.
The prototype keeps the general proportions of the standard electric C-Class but adds performance-oriented details, which is exactly the formula AMG needs as it transfers its identity into EVs.
A tri-motor layout would give Mercedes more control over torque delivery and performance character, not just a higher headline output.
Why it matters
The importance is strategic. AMG has to prove that an electric performance sedan can feel special without relying on the sound, gearbox behavior and engine drama that defined earlier C-Class AMG models.
