Mercedes Electric C-Class Starts Production Ahead of China Long-Wheelbase Version

Mercedes-Benz is moving its electric C-Class from reveal cycle toward production reality. Autohome reports that the new electric C-Class has rolled off the production line at Mercedes-Benz’s Hungary plant.

The model is based on the dedicated MB.EA electric architecture and uses an 800V platform, air suspension, rear-wheel steering, eATS 2.0 electric drive and a two-speed transmission.

A China-built long-wheelbase version is scheduled to be released within 2026. The car measures up to 4,990 mm long with a 3,051 mm wheelbase, and the cabin uses a 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen-style display.

Why it matters

The China version matters because Mercedes must compete with local EV sedans that move faster on screens, charging, chassis tech and rear-seat expectations.
