Haval is extending its boxy SUV range with more hybrid configurations. Autohome reports that the Haval Big Dog Plus Hi2 and Hi4 have appeared in MIIT filings.
Both versions keep the rugged Big Dog Plus design, including round retro-style lamps and widened wheel arches. Dimensions are listed at 4,705 mm long, 1,908 mm wide and 1,780 mm tall, with a 2,810 mm wheelbase.
The Hi2 and Hi4 both use a 1.5T hybrid system rated at 115 kW for the engine. Hi2 is listed as a single-motor two-wheel-drive version, while Hi4 uses dual motors for four-wheel drive.
Why it matters
The filings show Great Wall continuing to build a broad hybrid ladder around familiar SUV shapes rather than relying only on all-new electric models.
Big Dog Plus Hi2 and Hi4 should give Haval more ways to sell efficiency without losing the model family’s outdoorsy image.
