Lexus LS update for Japan drops pure V6 option and goes hybrid-only

The updated Lexus LS will launch first in Japan in September before reaching markets including Australia. The model-year update appears modest, but the pure 3.4-liter V6 gasoline option is being removed.

Model changes

The new LS replaces the rear badge with LEXUS lettering and adopts equal-width front and rear tires in 245/45 R20 size. The lineup will be simplified to three trims: F SPORT, L type and EXECUTIVE.

The cabin keeps the 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 12.3-inch center screen layout. A panoramic glass roof becomes available, but the model does not move to Lexus Safety System+ 4.0.
