BMW is preparing a mid-cycle X2 refresh with an electric angle still attached. Autohome reports that the updated X2 is planned for a July 2027 reveal and that BMW is expected to continue offering the fully electric iX2 alongside combustion versions.
The prototype is heavily camouflaged, but the front-end treatment appears closer to BMW’s latest design language, with revised lighting, a reshaped grille area and lower intake changes.
Autohome says the cabin is also expected to adopt BMW’s newer interface, including a larger central screen, a redesigned steering wheel and the brand’s panoramic display concept.
Why it matters
For EV watchers, the iX2 detail matters because premium compact crossovers are becoming a bridge product: familiar SUV packaging, but with software and charging expectations shaped by dedicated EVs.
The refreshed X2 family shows BMW keeping combustion and electric versions in parallel while its Neue Klasse styling language spreads across more segments.
