General Motors is trying to show steadier China momentum through new-energy products. Autohome reports that GM delivered more than 357,000 vehicles in China in the second quarter, with several new launches supporting its high-value segments.
The Buick Zhijing E7 became one of Buick’s best-selling models in its first full sales month, while Wuling Binguo Pro exceeded 31,000 quarterly sales as a small pure-electric car.

GM also highlighted Huajing S in the large-SUV space, showing how the group is leaning on both joint-venture scale and new-energy nameplates.
Why it matters
For foreign automakers in China, volume is no longer enough. They need competitive EV and PHEV products that can hold margin while fighting domestic brands on price, software and assisted-driving features.

GM’s Q2 result suggests its China business still has scale, but its future competitiveness depends on how quickly new-energy models become core sellers.
