Aito is making a focused hardware update to the M8 rather than changing the SUV’s basic formula. Autohome reports that the latest MIIT filing for the updated Aito M8 shows small exterior changes, new high-mounted side cameras on the C-pillars and continued five- and six-seat layouts.
The SUV keeps its 5,190 mm length, 1,999 mm width, 1,795 mm height and 3,105 mm wheelbase. The front lower grille changes to a denser honeycomb pattern, while wheel options include 20- and 21-inch designs.
Powertrain choices remain range-extended and pure-electric. The EREV version uses a 1.5T engine and dual motors, with 56.036 kWh and 75.408 kWh battery packs supporting WLTC electric ranges of 246 km, 352 km and 345 km depending on configuration.
Why it matters
Aito’s larger SUVs compete on intelligence and family comfort as much as powertrain type, so additional camera hardware points toward a continuing assisted-driving push.
The updated M8 filing shows how quickly China’s premium family SUVs are iterating around sensors, battery size and range.
