Li Auto is preparing a major mid-cycle upgrade for one of its most important range-extended SUVs. Autohome reports that the new Li Auto L6 will officially launch on July 16, with changes across the exterior, cabin, battery and assisted-driving hardware.
The battery pack grows from 26.8 kWh to 51 kWh, while WLTC electric range rises from 182 km to 234 km. The cabin also moves toward a 29-inch integrated front display, with upgraded cockpit and driving-assistance chips expected.
The most visible technology move is the expected jump to as many as four LiDAR units, bringing the smaller L6 closer to the hardware direction already seen on newer L8 and L9 models.
Why it matters
Li Auto has built the L6 into a volume product with hundreds of thousands of deliveries, so the update is less about novelty and more about protecting a core profit and share position in the family SUV market.
The refreshed L6 looks designed to make Li Auto’s smaller range-extended SUV feel like a new-generation product without changing its basic mission.
