Wey is preparing a large five-seat SUV that gives its premium lineup a smaller companion to the V9X. Autohome reports that China’s MIIT filing for the Wey V8X EV shows a midsize-to-large SUV with pure-electric power, while 1.5T and 2.0T plug-in hybrid versions are also planned.
The pure-electric model uses front and rear motors rated at 220 kW and 320 kW respectively, with a declared top speed of 220 km/h and a ternary lithium battery pack.

The V8X measures 5,000 or 5,040 mm long depending on configuration, 2,025 mm wide and up to 1,823 mm tall, with a 2,968 mm wheelbase and a five-seat layout.
Why it matters
Large five-seat SUVs have become a strategic space in China because buyers want premium comfort and road presence without necessarily moving into a three-row family vehicle.

The V8X EV gives Wey a more focused large SUV option as Great Wall keeps expanding its premium electrified portfolio.
