Xpeng is preparing a larger SUV that broadens its powertrain strategy. Autohome reports that real-world images of the Xpeng G9L have surfaced, showing a five-seat midsize-to-large SUV with a new family design.
The G9L measures 5,120 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and has a 3,100 mm wheelbase. The front keeps a closed EV-style face, while active grille shutters are used to manage cooling and efficiency.

The model is expected to offer both pure-electric and range-extended versions. The rear continues the full-width lighting theme and adds driver-assistance indicator lights to match the front.
Why it matters
Xpeng has historically been read as a battery-electric smart-car company. Adding range-extended options on a large family SUV would let it meet demand where Chinese buyers still value long-distance flexibility.

The G9L points to Xpeng becoming more pragmatic about powertrain choice while keeping its smart-SUV identity.
